Dj, composer and sound artist, Sharouh (aka Sarah Perez) mixes electronic music with her Mediterranean heritage, and more generally with world music. In a process of cultural rewriting, she is interested in the different forms of syncretism between modern and traditional music, as well as the role of women in this repertoire.
Beyond her personal productions, Sharouh is the founder of the French chapter of Beats By Girlz, a music tech training program for women and gender minorities. She has also taught music - piano, guitar and bass - and given introductory courses in sound engineering in social projects in Ecuador, Sudan and in refugee camps in Lebanon.
